Ongoing study -At the request of the cabinet of Social Affairs and Public Health, KCE will perform an updated literature review on the clinical effectiveness and patient safety of the most commonly used manual treatment techniques in osteopathy and chiropractic. This will be done through a systematic review of existing systematic reviews and meta-analyses.
This study will focus on a well-defined scope, i.e. the techniques themselves. KCE will not make any recommendations regarding the official recognition of the relevant professions, the content of their training or other considerations relating to their place in the healthcare system.
This report is expected at the beginning of 2027.
