Ongoing study - In 2025, KCE set up a new research pilar, which focuses on the evaluation of (complex) healthcare interventions; this was done at the request of the RIZIV-INAMI. In these studies, the KCE team will not only focus on effect evaluation (did the project achieve its goal), but also on process evaluation, where we assess why an intervention did or did not work, in which subgroups and why, to what extent the intervention was implemented, which barriers and facilitators were at play, etc.
The first intervention KCE will evaluate within this programme is the transversal care model “Eating disorders”, which was developed by RIZIV-INAMI and FPS Public Health, in close collaboration with actors in the field. In a first phase, a protocol for the evaluation will be developed (January - October 2026), after which the evaluation will be carried out.
