Planned study - This project will look at the reimbursement of radiopharmaceuticals treatments, which are currently facing a difficult environment due to competition between academic and commercial products. This situation could lead to shortages and sustainability issues in the near future. During the scoping phase of this study, we will examine whether the analysis should focus on radioligand therapy or also include other radiotherapy treatments.
The following research questions will be addressed:
- How is the reimbursement of radiopharmaceuticals currently organised in Belgium?
- What is the legal and reimbursement context in other European countries?
- What is the difference, in terms of legal framework and costs, between therapies produced by universities in the form of extemporaneous preparations and commercial radiopharmaceutical products?
