Investigator led call 2020 –Now open – closing date 15th September
Our 2020 investigator-led call is open! You can find all information on the call here. If you missed the strengthening workshop of 4th June, the slides are available on our website (end of the page). For your information, there has been a small broadening of the scope since the opening of the call, as we now allow Belgian participation in studies with an international sponsor to be submitted, even if the study has already started abroad (but is not submitted to CA/EC yet in Belgium). However joint calls and projects where the protocol is not yet final are still preferred.
New –covid-19 fast-track rolling call is now open
KCE Trials is opening a rolling call for proposals for covid-19 clinical trials, using a fast-track selection procedure (4 weeks from submission). The call is for rapid response proposals i.e. studies that can be up and running within the next months and rolling, meaning that the selection process starts upon submission and that there is no fixed closing date (the tentative closing date of this call, October 15th 2020 13.00, may be prolonged depending on the availability of funding next year). The existing KCE Trials selection process is adapted and simplified to be used to select, fund and follow-up ‘rapid response’ COVID studies. All information on this call can be found here.
New – two first studies with (summary of) results available
We are very proud to announce that two studies that were selected in 2016, during the first KCE Trials Programme call have recently published a summary of their results: the ELMO study and the Pressure Ulcer Prevention study. Both studies show positive results, and their implementation in the Belgian healthcare system is being evaluated. More details on the results will be published when the manuscript has been accepted for publication.
Restarting of ongoing studies
And last but definitely not least we would like to remind you of our ongoing studies, many of which have been impacted by COVID-19, and to thank the Sponsors, Investigators and their teams for their hard work and flexibility in the face of this challenge and the participants for their continued contribution. Several studies were put on temporary hold but we are prudently happy to announce that trials activities and research gradually begin to start up again in many hospitals.
