Study 2017-14 (HSR) Method for the identification of the real needs of patients

Ongoing study - This project aims to develop a feasible and reliable method for collecting information on patient needs. While everyone agrees that considering patient needs in decision making processes is important, no consensus exists on how information on patient needs can and should be collected. Knowing what patients really need is important for guiding research and development efforts towards those areas that matter most to patients, and for the appraisal of the added value of new healthcare interventions. It contributes to the creation of a needs-driven healthcare system. However, the identification of patient needs has hurdles and constraints. These will be addressed in the study and solutions will be sought in order to develop a feasible method for identifying patient needs.
