KCE Reports 5 (2004) The routine peri-operative use of beta-blockers is no longer recommended In the KCE guidelines on pre-surgical examinations (KCE Reports 5-2004), the peri-operative use of beta-blockers (see page 10) was elaborately discussed. These recommendations were largely based on primary studies To this date (February 2014), it appears that most of these studies are fraudulent.
