Ongoing tender: KCE study 2016-52 (HSR) Organisation of mental care in Belgium

At the request of the inter-cabinet working group (IKW) ‘task force on Mental Health care’, the KCE conducts a study on the organisation of mental health care services for the adult Belgian population. Data on the supply of mental healthcare services will be gathered in order to take into account possible gaps and overlaps between existing services. The Belgian landscape will be assessed against internationally defined frameworks that pursue to provide patients with care in the community.

Levers, obstacles and the options to further pursue the mental health care reform in Belgium will be analysed by means of a large consultation of stakeholders. This qualitative part is the subject of this tender. The contractor will work in close collaboration with KCE researchers who will work on the other parts of the research project. The different phases of the qualitative research will be carried out in close collaboration and concertation.

The contractor is responsible for the consultation of stakeholders involved in the mental healthcare sector. The contractor will recruit participants for the qualitative research (interviews and workshops), organise and transcribe the discussions and analyse the qualitative data preferably with an appropriate software. The contractor will work in collaboration with the KCE to develop models/scenarios. The findings of the qualitative research and the models/scenarios are described in a final English report.

The contractor needs to have proven experience with qualitative research methods and analysis within healthcare, and in particular with the development of models/scenarios. The contractor should master Dutch and French – both orally and in writing – and be able to produce a well written scientific report in English.Since the contractor will have to work closely with KCE researchers, he must be able to participate to regular meetings at KCE’s headquarters.

The contractor is invited to submit their application clearly indicating the persons, and their level of expertise, who may be able to invest a large part of their time to the project. The start of the subcontracting is scheduled in September.
